Its official my kids have mullets!

So its official I finally gave the boys mullets, I have wanted to give them mullets since they were one but every time I wanted to I couldn't wait long enough for them to grow out their hair! You may remember the post I did about a year ago about mullets

3rd birthday and the hospital!

Tristin took a picture of his mom turning into a scary monster due to the Holidays!!! Roar!

My kids lovely stitches that he got for his 3rd birthday! 5 stitches. He was a champ and was making everyone laugh in the ER...he had a huge bandage around his head and asking for the Dr.

Grandpa got the boys a Thomas the Train remote control train...the next day he got another one so they could each have their own. One just wasn't going to cut it!!!

We are 3 years old and we are big boys(we are finally potty trained...Ya!)

Disneyland... am I crazy???

So this all started one day when I was obsessing over going to Hawaii and how I could go with the boys and what days would work well with school and work. Anyways It turned out that my wishful thinking eventually turned in to a trip to Disneyland. I wanted to go somewhere where it is warm and California is always warm so I thought it was a great choice. I've never been to Disneyland so I was really excited myself, but I have to say that preparing and then following through with something like this is not my specialty but it turns out that traveling with a connection and going to Disney with two twin boys who are still 2 years old and learning to potty train is not that bad. We had a blast and took all these cute pic and then we dropped the camera in the water when we were getting off the boat for the Jungle ride at Disneyland. :( I was really upset but I tried not to let it ruin the trip.

The funniest thing was on the last day when we were at the Orange County Airport getting food I had two different people come up to me and tell me how patient I was as a mother and how great it was to see...I think this is funny because I don't feel like I am very patient but well they must know what they are talking about!!! :)

I know I haven't posted in awhile but well I've been really busy with work and school and the boys so I will try to do better although we don't have a camera anymore so probably no pictures.

Dallas...beware of great snapshots and swimsuit shots!!!

Chauntel just hanging out with us girls! What a great hostess, she never let us starve(even went out of her way to take us to Chick-fil-a, thanks very much!) and took us to the best swimming pools that Mckinney had to offer.

Great picture of me and Bailey hanging out. It was fun having 3 sister together that are all from different states. I know I've mentioned it before but I love the new job that allows my parents, my kids and me to fly for free.

Lets play who is in this photo...Bailey with Maddox, Chauntel with Jackson and me with Tristin and Gavin.

We went to Berrilicious (sp?) a great place to make your own frozen yogurt mixture.

The boys had a blast hanging out with there cousins in Dallas and Makayla was nice enough to let them play with her pennies!
The boys first time in an Airplane and they loved it. Gavin kept walking up to Tristin and flapping his arms and saying "Flying Trisitn, we flying!" and Tristin would say "yeah!" they were funny, crazy, crying, screaming, barrel of fun on our trip. The best part was when we were in Minneapolis trying to make our connection to Pasco airport and we had to run from one end to the other end of the huge airport and my kids didn't want to move. I tried to take the moving walkway with Tristin and I got on with two pieces of luggage and he wouldn't get on, so yelled at him to get on still nothing and I continued to move farther away for him, some people approached and I yelled "hey could you just throw him on!" they looked at me like I was crazy and he started to cry, so I did the only thing I could and started walking up stream on the moving walkway trying to move fast enough to make it to him, finally I got him and put him on while the people just looked at me in horror. To make matters worse he almost wouldn't get off! That was a very exciting experience! It will be a long time before we do that again!!!

Day trip to San Francisco!

I was able to go to San Francisco this last week and hang out with a friend from work and some old friends from Houston. It was a really great trip and we had a good time! I think what made it fun was the good company. My calves hurt for days after from all the walking! We left at 6:00 am and came home on the last flight at 8:00 pm. I love the new job that makes a day trip to California possible!!! :)

How to train your Dragon

I took the boy to go see the movie How to train your Dragon. It was a really fun experience, but I realized just how tender they are. The first part of the movie is all action, Dragons attacking the Vikings and the Vikings fighting the Dragons. The first 15 min both boys were on my lap whining that they wanted to go home, Tristin had his head buried into Gavin's shoulder. But then after a bit they both moved to their own seats and were eating popcorn and "RRRRRRRRoaring" at me!!! So I found these backpacks at Walmart for $10 that come with wings and a hood. They kept wanting to wear my backpacks and saying "shool" so these will be good for church or outings for the summer or traveling!!!
I'm really excited to start traveling! I have big plan...which of course won't happen but if it does I have it planned.

Ok so my big news for now is that I got a calling to be the "Teachings for our times" Relief Society teacher. I had my first lesson this last Sunday on Mothers and Daughter By Elder Ballard from last conference. I think it went well but it is a starting point and now I know what needs to be improved and what went well. I am really excited to have this experience. I am glad to have this responsibility to teach the sisters in my ward.

getting back and into the swing of things

I had to go to Denver this last week to do basic training for the airport job. I am very excited to be working for Skywest, although I just keep telling myself I should had this job before I had kids! I could have flown all over the place but now I have to be a little bit more reserved in that aspect.
I had a blast going to training. I'm not going to lie I was very happy to have a mini vacation. I missed the boys terrible but I tried not to think about it too much or I started to get sad and teary. My parents were great to watch them while I was gone and it was much appreciated!

I met lots of great people and I had so much fun planning a trip to downtown Denver for a bunch of us. I liked going downtown it was very fun, until the drunk homeless guy started following me and none of the guys I was with did anything about it. I finally just ran ahead into a Walgreens so he would go away!!!
Our trainer found tickets for the Nuggets/Jazz playoff game so I was able to go to that for like $12. We had a great time, I even got a great picture of these Nuggets fans that sat right in front of us that were sharing all their assets to us. I wish I had a way to get the video on here I'll see if I can share it with you all. I know you all want to see the awesome dancing!
I passed all my tests and I am starting work on Tuesday. Next time I go anywhere for training I think it will be Salt Lake City which is cool so I can see Jillian, Cody and Joseph.
I was really sick when I got there and had to do this test where you have to pick up different weighted bags and put them on these two different shelves and I almost passed out! I was so weak from being sick. The man doing the testing was telling me that I need to get into shape!!! LOL! Probably true but I also think if I can pick up two 30 lbs boys at the same time I can probably handle this. But there really are some heavy bags that worries me!
I can't tell you how fun it was for me. We got a check on the 1st day for our meals that ended up being $175. It was fun to eat out which I hardly ever do. Over all it was a great experience but a week is perfect just enough time to get away!
I really had this grand Picture of me coming into the boys room this morning and they were going to be so excited and give great big hugs and kiss me and say "MOMMY"! Yeah right. My kids were glad to see me but it didn't quit happen like that. It was more like "hi mom" and then a bunch of other stuff and that was it, a bit of a let down, but it was nice to be back!!!!

Found a Job!

I finally found a job!!! I will be working at Skywest at the Pasco Airport! I am very excited and can't wait to start. I have to leave on Sunday for Denver to do a 5 day training and will be back next Friday. I hope that this job works out and that I am happy at this job. I will have flying benefits which is nice but seeing as how I can't barely go to the store with my boys I'm not too sure how traveling on a plane will work out. My parents will also have the benefit of flying for free if they desire. Maybe we can go somewhere together!!! Just thought I would update and since this is good new I thought I would share.

Potty Training Double time...HELP!

I am officially finished with my Associates Degree and so my days will be filled with other things besides memorizing Muscles and Bone and Bacteria and Viruses ...instead I have decided what to do with all the free time. I am going to have too try to get the boys Potty Trained!!!
I know I am crazy! I think it will be crazy if I can do both kids at the same time. But I guess if crazy Kate (John & Kate Plus Eight) can do 6 kids (three at a time) then I can do 2. Except one little thing I have never done this before. I haven't had the pleasure of potty training a toddler. So I am asking for HELP !!!
If you have any advice about potty training that would be great. Even if it was a girly experience or a singleton kid experience, I will take what I can get. I expect lots of messy briefs and lots of crying, if its me and not the kids I am expecting that too! Just the crying part and not the messy underwear!
Thanks
A Crazy Mother who is asking for it!!!

Tea Rose Flower and Romantic Cardigan

Tea Flower and Romantic Cardigan
The flower is made of recycled jeans it was a very long and frustrating project. It shouldn't have been so bad but I didn't have the right kind of jeans so then I had to re-cut out the pieces using better quality fabric. It has a pin on the back so it can be added to necklaces, or pinned to a shirt, it could even be worn in your hair. I am glad to have it finished.

The Romantic Cardigan was easier, all you have to do is find an old usable cardigan or a new cheap one from the store. I actually bought one since I realized that I don't really buy very many cardigans. I saw that this same cardigan is on sale for $15 at Target. Then I added Lace and made ruffles out of ribbons. I had to make a few changes from the original design.

I have to say that I found both of these on this great blog by a girl, Sachiko, who likes to take old things are make new things out of them. If you want to take a look go Here it is a fun blog I just wish I had little girls!

Happy St. Patricks day!

I actually don't really care for St. Patrick's day. As a mother I think it is a little bit more fun. Next year maybe a little more fun when they can really understand. Gavin was already dressed this morning and didn't have any green on till Grandma reminded us, so Gavin's green shirt had to go over his Blue and Brown striped shirt!
I realized today at school that it is actually kind of cool to dress up for the Holidays. I was wearing green and thought no one else would be, but to my surprise many kids had green on. One kid even had on as much green as you could possible wear. I am so cool!!!
Cousin Carter brought his Baseball glove over today and Gavin really loved that. At first Carter didn't want to share his glove but when I asked him too help Gavin and show him how to use the glove he was very helpful. Uncle Cody was really nice and pitched balls to Tristin, who actually does really well hitting a big ball. Gavin got really mad when it was time for Carter and the glove to go home so I thought it would be a good idea to get the boys there own glove and baseballs(tennis balls). The boys are snug in bed with gloves and balls tucked in tight!!! I didn't have time to get pictures since it was time for bed when we got home from the store. Maybe tomorrow.
I am almost done with school only a test tomorrow and a final on Monday. I am very ready to be done!

girl things, boy things

Thanks to Kamden who came over yesterday and helped the boys pick out outfits! Also thanks to Marcel for bringing over the nerf guns so the boys could do some shooting practice!!! A little bit of boy things a little bit of girl things...my kids are going to be really confused.

BreakFasT

Breakfast has been a fun little moment each day as of late. The boys have started eating cereal which is fun and messy. I love to watch them tip the bowl up to drink the sugary goodness that is left in the bowl. Gavin also loves waffles and french toast and oatmeal, pretty much anything that is food really. But Tristin is not such a good Breakfast eater and many mornings leaves leftovers in his bowl or on his plate. This is where the "garbage man" (my new name for Gavin) comes in, the other day I saw that Gavin was sitting a the table done and that Tristin was getting down to go play leaving left over waffles on his plate, Gavin then moves over to Tristin's plate and begins to eat his leftovers! I was laughing, to myself, when Tristin came back to eat a little more and Gavin had moved all of the contents of Tristin's plate to his own making it look like the food was his own. Today I saw kind of the same thing and caught it on camera. This time Gavin was feeding Tristin from the leftovers of Tristin's bowl and taking a FEW of his own bits too(more like 5 for him and 1 for Tristin!). These kids are too funny and it just keeps getting better.

seven pairs

Tristin like to wear all the pairs of underwear that came in the package, so he puts all seven on and looks like he is waddling around.

Of course he thinks this cool to have ALL of them on. We haven't tried to potty train too much but Tristin seems to be into it more then Gavin who won't even sit on the toilet!

Tristin took this lovely picture! (I thought he was shooting lower so I ducted down, little did I know he probably would have had it just right, oops! It kind of makes me look like the queens head from THE MAD HATTER!)

I gave a talk yesterday on Testimony's. It was a good experience I felt good about it and I never really got too nervous. All in all I think it went well except I called my seminary teacher by the wrong name. But no big deal!!! The boys saw me walk up to the stage before church and they started to cry but they did well. I just sat up front laughing it was nice to sit up front where I could hear and see everyone. I told a friend that you know you didn't do well when you start to walk down after your talk and no one will look you in the eye. I guess people either felt bad for me and so they took pitty and told me I did well or I just might have actually done well, what ever the case it is done and I am happy. I had a busy weekend so this week should be better.

Another out with the old and in with the new...

Sweater! I took a hand-me-down sweater and used some scrap material to make a "new" sweater! I also made a scarf from some knit fabric it was way too much work, but that could be because I had no cutting board to use and the sewing machine sucked!!! All in all I think they both turned out good and I am happy! I have one more project but it might have to wait because I have several more important things I should be doing but don't really want to do, like writing a talk for next Sunday, and study for my entrance exam for the Nursing program, or taking care of my kids, or doing some school projects, or having a life. The last one I don't mind doing it's just not really easy. But I am going to a dance tomorrow night and so I feel I am doing my part in getting at least a little bit of a life!!! The part I don't want to do is have to dance with the awkward boys who are all going to be there and might ask me to dance. Because of course the really awesome guys will be on dates with their girlfriends for Valentine's day!!! =)
